If you have commercial door locks on your business then you might have different types of keys for the various areas of the business. As the owner, you are responsible for the protection of your company and part of that is ensuring that only the right people have the keys. If you are going to be installing a door soon, then it’s a good opportunity to to get the keys duplicated for commercial purpose so that the employees you trust can have more responsibility. You may even be able to take a vacation.

  2. It’s a physical sign of a promotion. When you give someone a promotion it usually comes with a title change and a pay raise which is really what people want but giving them the key or the code to the commercial door locks of your business is further proof of a promotion.

  3. It’ll gives employees something to aspire to. If employees know that you’re looking for key holders then it will give them something to aim for. If they are wanting to move up in your company then moving step-by-step or promotion by promotion will be important to them.

  4. It shows the employee that you trust them. Employees need to know that you trust them and while it’s easy to say that you do, giving them the key to your business, will show them that there is weight behind your words. It’s a great way to put your words into action.

  1. They could lose the key. There’s always the possibility that they turn out to be a forgetful person and could put the key somewhere that they don’t remember. It could be that the place the key in a safe place but can’t remember where it is but it’s also possibility that they lost it somewhere near the building so someone knows what the key is for or it could get stolen.

  2. They could copy the key. When you give a key to an employee, chances are that they are trustworthy and responsible and a good employee. However, they may not always be that way. They could make copies and if something goes awry and you end up having to let them go, you would have to change all the commercial door locks to make sure they don’t try to exact revenge.

  3. It offers a high chance to mess up. When a good employee has the key, they’ll understand the great responsibility and trust that you have placed in them. This may actually cause them to panic and sabotage themselves. Giving someone a key to your business could make someone get overwhelmed with the responsibility.
